Early Fall Drive In Marmora
I decided to get away from the computer this morning and go for a drive to see if I could find any fall colours. I knew I wasn’t likely to find a whole lot this early in the season, but it was worth a go so off I went north to Marmora. I forgot my sweater, but luckily it warmed up a little by the time I got there!
When I started to see more colours in the trees, I headed off the main road to explore the side roads but didn’t find much. Eventually I made my way up to highway 7 on the back roads west of Marmora. By this time I had given up for the day and was ready to call it quits when I spotted this flash of colour on the side of the highway. Of course, because I needed to stop in a hurry, I had a dump truck tailgating me, so I found a safe place to turn around and head back. I don’t know what it was about that small stretch of road, but there was a ton of colour showing for some reason. After I took these, I kept heading east but didn’t find anything else. By that time the cloud had mostly dissipated and the good light was gone (and it was past lunchtime!) anyway, so I headed home.
This one is not of the fall colours, but I stopped on the road to photograph it anyway. I like the simple composition and contrast of the corn field against the sky. I just had to sit and wait for a few minutes for the sun to peak out from behind the clouds to light up the corn for me.
