Thanksgiving At Arrowhead Provincial Park

Fall is definitely my favourite season and my favourite time to go camping. Cool temperatures, no bugs, fall colours. What’s not to like? However, it’s been a while since we’ve been on a Thanksgiving weekend trip. We have done day trips to Algonquin this time of year, but the last time we tried to camp on the Thanksgiving weekend it started to snow halfway there, so we chickened out and turned around!

This year, we decided to try something different and booked a campsite at Arrowhead Provincial Park. We were there in the winter to enjoy the skating and tubing hill, and heard the fall colours in the Huntsville area couldn’t be beat. So we loaded up the camping gear and the canoe and hit the road. As you can see, the fall colours did not disappoint! While we were there, we also did some paddling in Algonquin Park, and stopped at a few lookouts and scenic areas along the way.
Perfect weather, peak fall colour, camping, paddling, and my amazing family. Can’t beat that for Thanksgiving!
