Art & Sound Festival – Afternoon Set
Alrighty folks, here is the first installment of photos from the Art & Sound Festival that was held in Frankford this past weekend. That’s right, there’s a lot more pictures to come in the second installment. There were so many, that I decided to split the photos into afternoon and evening sets to make them a little easier to digest (plus, I need a break from editing photos!).
So, here are the photos from the afternoon set. Some of the highlights include: An acoustic Tool cover, The last performance by Music For Deaf People, off-road skateboarding, Logan’s lime green bass, face painting, the sophomore performance by Rainbow Spit, and some great audience participation with With Blood Drenched Hands. Not to mention great performances by The Nancys, One Day To Live and The Pretty Vacants. And that was just the afternoon!
As you can probably tell, it was a very long day of shooting. But I had a great day and the time flew by surprisingly fast. Especially since everything was right on time. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever been to an event like this that ran so smoothly, especially given that every band had to load all their gear in between sets.
It was a joy to shoot this event, although not without it’s share of challenges… but what fun would it be if there were no challenges? Just for the record, that table on the stage with boxes of cookies on it will never be forgiven… although they were gooooood cookies. Also, I ate cookies till I was sick of cookies… and I love cookies!
Big props to Ben, Richard, Gabby and all the rest of the organizers of this event. They pulled together some of the best talent in the area and put together an outstanding show.
Stay tuned for the photos from the evening show…
