Fall Family Portraits
I recently had the pleasure shooting some family portraits for a friend of mine at a local conservation area. I was excited to get out and shoot with the fall colours and I had scoped out a few places and found that the leaves were mostly gone. Luckily, they suggested this place that I had never heard of, so I drove by to check it out and the colours were amazing. Combine that with a great family, lots of laughs and an eventful walk in the woods, and we had tons of fun on this shoot.
One of the hardest things to deal with as a portrait photographer is people that hate getting their picture taken. As you can probably tell, I did not have that problem! If anything I had more trouble getting pictures where someone (guess who) wasn’t making a completely redonculous face. No need to shake rattles or squeaky toys to get this little guy smiling!
On the drive over I was closely watching the sky and saw a huge dark cloud heading towards the sun. Bah! So most of the shoot was under shady and pretty dark conditions. The sun peaked out for only a couple of minutes, so when I saw it I had them move in to get this shot. Then the sun disappeared again. At least the rain held off until I was leaving the parking lot!
And then a little crazy again :-).
I can’t thank them enough for coming out and being so much fun to shoot! We got some great pictures, had an amazing time and narrowly escaped a bear attack (you had to be there).
There’s still some fall colour hanging around and Halloween and Christmas are just around the corner. If you are looking for a portrait photographer, contact me at info@dannysheppard.com.
