Early Morning Recycling
I woke up this morning at about 6:30, looked at my clock and thought about how much I did NOT want to get out of bed to bring the recycling to the curb for 7:00. Then I dozed off and woke up again at 6:58 and proceeded to fumble my way out of bed and find whatever clothes I could laying on the floor to throw on. Yes I have clothes all over the floor.
I headed out to the garage, put the boxes to the curb, came back in the house and headed back to the bedroom. As I was throwing my clothes back into the floor pile, I glanced out the window and saw the sky to the south glowing red. This could only mean one thing: I was about to get dressed in record time (in more floor clothes), skip breakfast, and get my butt down to the bay.
As always, I couldn’t decide exactly where to go shoot, but I hadn’t been to the Meyers Pier area in a while so I headed over there and jumped out of my car in a mad rush before the light disappeared. And it didn’t last long. After trying several different options I settled on this one, which left me laying on my belly on a sheet of ice shooting a bunch of frames to build this panoramic shot.
Note: the photo in this blog post has been updated. Today I noticed that the Photoshop panorama merge output totally messed up the bench! Not sure how I missed that, but either way, I fixed the photo using one that I shot a couple minutes later instead. Same image but I guess somehow the individual shots lined up better and it came out much better. Here’s the original image I posted yesterday. Lesson learned.
