The other day I had an unexpected house guest. I didn’t want to be a rude host so I gave him a nice place to hang out between the screen and the window for the night. In the morning I built him a nice little studio, stuck him with a safety pin and we did a little photo shoot.

These shots were done with my 105mm macro lens using the flash case as a black back drop. I stuck the fly on the safety pin in a clamp to hold it still and played with various lighting. I also used a white napkin for some fill light. I really have to play with my macro lens more often. I just might have to find some subjects that aren’t so gross!
