A Striking View Of The Bay
You see what I did in the title there? Sorry.
Last night as I was about to settle into my man cave for the night, my wife alerted me to the storm clouds forming in the south. As soon as I had a look, I ran out the door and got down to the bay as soon as I could.
When I did get down there, I had just missed the light. There was still some pink in the sky from the sunset, but it didn’t last long and by the time I got where I wanted to be it was gone. To make matters worse, a fellow photographer calls out to me to ask if I had gotten any pictures, so I went over to chat. Then he proceeds to show me some of the pictures he took of the most amazing sky I’d ever seen around these parts. Apparently he was out trying to get pictures of the swans when the sky exploded. And I missed it all!
Disillusioned, I headed back to my car when I noticed some lightning strikes across the bay and headed back up unto the hill to see if I could get something. Despite the flies (I should have listened to my beautiful wife and put on pants!), I stuck it out and managed to get a shot of the only visible lightning strike I saw all night.
