Branching Out

It’s a strange thing, how something that seems like a simple hobby can affect your life. I remember shopping for my first digital camera. I didn’t really know anything about cameras or photography at the time, but the gearhead in me (or maybe the creative?) insisted on getting one with full manual controls and all kinds of menu options and buttons I didn’t know how to use. I finally settled on my trusty old Cannon A80. I loved that camera, it had all the controls I needed, had this cool flip screen and even shot RAW. Of course, using the manual controls on that thing was a huge pain the butt so I shot everything in “P” mode and never shot a single RAW image with it. Still, I shot some great images with that little camera, and it really sparked my creativity and interest in photography.

Fast forward a bunch of years, a lot of experience, tens of thousands of pictures, and a bag of new camera gear. My camera has brought me to places I would probably have never gone without it. It’s led the way to new experiences, people and adventures.
Now it’s time to explore some new areas of photography. To that end, I’m working on various new projects and will be offering some new photography services. The first of which is band portraits. I’ve had a lot of bands ask me over the past year to shoot their band’s photo, so I’m really excited to get this rolling. Check out the Services page for more details and pricing if you are in a band and would like to have some killer photos for your press kit.
I have a lot of other exciting things in the works so stay tuned!
