Goo Goo Dolls And Tim Chaisson At Rogers K-Rock Centre
Goo Goo Dolls is one of those bands that really brings me back to my high school days, cruising around town with friends in my Dad’s K-Car, listening to my Panasonic Shockwave CD player (which I still have!) over the FM transmitter. Yeah, that’s how I rolled.
To be honest, they are also one of the bands that I haven’t listened to in years, which made going to this show all the better. It’s amazing how hearing a song that you haven’t heard in so long can just flood you with a rush of memories and emotions that have otherwise been lost. Goo Goo Dolls was standard listening in every car, at every party and it seemed that any time a guitar was passed around, Name was sure to be played.
The great thing is that they are not touring on old recycled material. They have been putting out solid records ever since those K-Car days, and they haven’t missed a beat. I hesitate to think about how many years it’s been sometimes, but it’s great tunes by bands like Goo Goo Dolls that will always stick with me… and make me remember just how finicky that old FM transmitter was!
