This past Friday was once again time for the Friday Night Lights football game between the Centennial Chargers and Moira Trojans. I didn’t get a lot of time to shoot this year’s game, between the rain and my son wanting to go home, but I did manage to grab a few shots to test out my new camera and see how it performed in low light.

These were taken with a Nikon D750 and a 700-200 lens at ISO 6400 up to ISO 128000 (Yup!). I have to say I’m really impressed with the quality, especially compared to my other camera. Of course there is a little noise when you zoom into 100%, but even then it’s not bad, and nothing that a little noise reduction in Lightroom can’t make (a little) better. Also, the new group focusing option worked amazing, especially at 200mm where it can be quite difficult to keep a single focus point on the player you want in focus. My only complaint is that I couldn’t stick around and shoot more!
