More Fall Colours

Fall colours in Bay of Quinte
Remember how I said I have no sense of direction and have been getting lost on my drives? Well, I’ve been doing enough driving lately that I’m starting to learn my way around the back roads. I guess that means I’d better start moving on to some new areas to shoot! But for now, I’ll follow the colours for the rest of the fall, then see what the winter brings.

Some of these were taken today, but a few were also taken last week. I looked out my window this afternoon and saw the clouds rolling in and knew I had to hit the road and find something to shoot. I just love the dramatic skies and, as long as it’s not too heavy, the clouds provide great lighting especially when the clouds break and provide a little front lighting as in the first photo (and a few others in this post). It takes a little patience and trying to predict the clouds, but I also get to enjoy the fresh air and scenery while I wait :-).
Two of my favourite things to shoot in the fall are: 1) Birch trees against the colours and 2) Messing with my camera settings to get some abstracts. So there’s a bunch of those things in this post!
